As a child and young adult growing up in the Blue Mountains, Kara was an avid sportswoman, particularly fond of tree-climbing and rock-climbing. When discovering Circus Avalon during her university days she immediately took a shine to the aerial arts. She is a passionate and active performer, focusing her skills on duo silks, duo lyra, corde lisse, trapeze and adagio.

Kara has performed at a number of events and festivals with Circus Avalon, and in 2014 competed in the Oz Circus Week Circus Competition with her duo silks partner. Together they won ‘Most Inspiring Act’, ‘Judges Prize’ and were the ‘Adult Pre-Professional Champions.’

Kara been an Avalon trainer for 5 years, and enjoys passing on her knowledge to others. Many of her students have performed at local Newcastle Events, including the Wallsend Winter Carnivale, and joined Avalon in their January 2015 show ‘Tutto.’
